What happens in Vegas...

This week has been absolutely wonderful. Stinkin' hot...but wonderful! I'm visiting my sister Laurel and her hubby Jeremy in Nevada, and below you'll see picutures of the lil guy that has captured most of my attention by his mezmerizing charm. This, my friends, is Mr. Hunter James Dodds.

Hunter absolutely loves to play with my cell phone, & he calls people all the time, usually without me knowing...Silly boy! So if you get a call from my phone and nobody answers on my side, it's cuz he can't talk yet:).

My cute lil guy loves to flirt with my girls from EFY, Tori and Bailey, we got to go do baptisms in the Las Vegas Temple on Thursday. It was so fun to see my girls!

My boy knows he's gonna get all the ladies.Look at his handsome self. Mirror mirror, on the wall, who is the cutest one of all?
Here's him getting ready for church...no honey, those are my shoes:)

You wanna know something about Vegas: It's 110 degrees!
Went for a run this morning with Gidget to train for my 5k and just about
fainted from heat stroke. Not really, but tomorrow I'm getting up a lot earlier BEFORE the sun heats up the sidewalks to egg-boiling level!

It sure is hot here, but on Saturday we got to cool down and go out to Lake Mead. Hunter LOVED the water, splashing around and throwin rocks into the lake. He even got to go on a kayaking trip on his own. :) Oh I'm just kidding...

We had him wear a life jacket of course! No, he didn't actually get to go on a ride...but Jeremy took me out to an island and I got my rowing workout for the day:) It was lots of fun.

This week's awesome group!

This week I had the awesome privelege of workin with the 14-15 year olds, and our group was a small company of only 16 people, equal boys and girls--AMAZING!

If the guys were a little, rowdy at times, that was made up for by the fact that I had an extraordinary group of girls, who I was able to get pretty close with because of the tininess of the group and the fact that they were absolutely awesome!

I even got to room with two of them. Here's Tori and Bailey helping me dry my scriptures and EFY handbook after they got damp one day in the rain...brilliant girls, we didn't have a blow dryer between the three of us, so our own blowin had to do!

Our session director Brother Richards was amazing, and he wanted us to work on unity for the week, since it was a small session and all, only 275 people. That was hard for us at the beginning, but by the end, we were havin' a hard time saying goodbye to each other. We got pretty tight between games at lunch and testimony meeting. We had lots of fun, and made Isacc do all the dirty work...He was our pack mule on games night:) But we one the banner competition and the Water Award, a lot of it thanks to this wonderful, wacky, wise Whitney!

A look into EFY: Especially for You!!!

So I don't know how I came to be so lucky...but I pretty much have the best summer job EVER! For the past three weeks I've been livin my dream job as a counselor for EFY: Especially for Youth. It's a week-long camp that not only creates fun but also changes lives...and I've been so blessed to be part of that testimony-building process three times! Since the program is so inspired and amazing that it cannot be expressed in words...here's some pictures to let you know a little bit of what goes on there...

A Wet and Wild Weekend!

So after 3 exhausting but exhilerating weeks of EFY, my best buds and I headed up to Layton for some amusement park fun at Lagoon. It was the perfect day to go because the lines were so short, but the thing is that the lines were so short because it was rainin' most of the day. We loved it though, singing and dancing in the rain, on and off of rollar coasters and then finally, when we were quite damp from the pelting raindrops pelting us, we decided to get SOAKED on Rattlesnake Rapids. Then it was so fun that we did it again! We headed back to Dave's house pretty soon after to dry off, get some grub, play games, and watch Penelope (an adorable movie btw if you haven't seen it. Here's some pictures to document the occasion:
