So THIS is what it feels like...OH, I get it now!!!

Have you ever had a time in your life when ALL of the songs make sense? You know what that means don't ya? It means you're in LOVE! If you haven't thought about it in a while, think about WHY you love the one you love...what it felt like when you first fell into the vast ocean full of beauty and overwhelming. refreshing, suffocating...perfectness. What were your thoughts and feelings when you first started swimming, floating, drowning in it? When you grew gills and learned to plunge beneath and see all the beauty that lies under the surface? Do you remember? Dive under again, and tell the person you love what makes you love them...because then the vastness and the beauty of what you two have embarked upon becomes clear, and the excitement of the journey rekindles in your heart. I don't know what it feels like to have loved for many months or years, but I now know what it feels like when you first decide to swim...so if you've forgotten...give this a try. And let me know, doesn't this song make perfect sense?!

"Ocean Wide" by The Afters
Look outside
It's already light and the stars ran away with the night
Things we're said, words that we'll try forget,
it's so hard to admit I know we've made mistakes
I see through all the tears but that's what got us here
[Chorus:]
If love is an ocean wide
We'll swim in the tears we cry
They'll see us through to the other side
We're gonna make it
When love is a raging sea
You can hold on to me
We'll find a way tonight
Love is an ocean wide

I'll stay right here

It's where I'll always belong
Tied with your arms
Days like this, I wish the sun wouldn't set
I don't want to forget
What made us feel this way
You see through all my fears
And that's what got us here
[Chorus]

Love is an ocean wide enough to forget

Even when we think we can't

And another one that just has the cutest video...and totally makes sense on every level!

Family Ties...

But by far the best part of the trip was spending time with family. Three little cuties made the trip quite entertaining! Reagan was so adorable in her little knit dress, and she only got a little spit up on it!
These people make my world go 'round!

Las Vegas Celebrations!

This April was a month of celebration. Of my Nana's 75th birthday and of Reagan's baby blessing. The whole family, including Nana, was able to gather in Nevada and we were joined by Nana's friends of 62 years, Lollie and Hal Stivers. We saw Donny and Marie Osmond's show, which was absolutely hilarious! Here are the outfits from their Dancing with the Stars performances, including the Mirror Ball trophy that Donny won last year. Then here's mom and I with the famous duo:

Okay, that's not really them, but I was in the very front and got to touch both of their hands. Mom was jealous!!!

The next day, I checked two things off my bucket list at one hotel: the Venetian. I rode in a gondola with mom and dad (I told them it was a lot cheaper than flying me to Venice) and visited a wax museum like I always wanted to! Thumbs up, 2 down in one day. When I asked myself if it was possible, if I could really pull it off, our friend the Pres here said, "Yes you can!"

When in Vegas, you do as the Vegans do :) Not really...at all...it's kind of a scary place. Reminds me of the Capitol in the Hunger Games--all fake, all counterfeit. So I decided to join in and have a fake wedding...I picked a good guy don't you think? Maybe he's a little old for me...but he's pretty dashing all the same!

Dad got to tell off some of the politicians he doesn't like and Mom and I finally got to show Simon Cowel what we really think of him!

We got to pose with some famous actors and actresses. Nana and Lolly even got to hang with the Rat Pack and Judy Garland!

The chest hair was very realistic!
Pretend that's facing the other way...
Is that thing real???

Thought Laurel would enjoy this one...this is the LV mayor, very true to life posed with a Playboy bunny! Oh brother!

And this one's just for Beka...I know she'll be pretty jealous! (Don't worry, this one was taken before I married George...I'm no playa' like the maya'!)

Overall it was a marvelous day, made even more magnificant by some gelato (can't forget that, right Pepe?)
